From waste to clean energy: The acid path to reducing CO2 emissions
This article was originally published in PTQ Revamps 2024.
This article explores how refineries can enhance their energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint with the wet-gas sulphuric acid (WSA) process.
Through a technical case study, we compare the WSA process to the established Claus process for sulphur recovery. Emphasizing facts and figures, the analysis explores the environmental benefits of WSA, its role in capturing waste heat, and the resulting potential for carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions reduction.
