Lithium-ion batteries are widely accepted as the energy-storage norm, and are expected to become the primary energy source for a more diverse range of mobile and stationary applications over the next decade. However, current Li-ion technology cannot satisfy the charge-speed and cycle-life requirements needed to achieve widespread acceptance in markets like rail, micro-transport, and e-ferries
