About Hydroprocessing Course

The course is designed for refinery engineers who work with hydroprocessing and related catalysts and processes, as well as more experienced engineers interested in a refresher course. A further major benefit is the opportunity to discuss with Topsoe experts about specific technical and operational issues.

What is covered during the course?
Facilitated by Topsoe technical experts with many years of experience between them, the course will cover a wide range of topics associated with hydroprocessing. These include:
• Hydroprocessing reactions
• Reaction kinetics and feedstock dependency
• Catalyst preparation and selection
• Effect of operating conditions - optimize your performance
• Understand your hydrotreater and hydrocracker layout
• Catalyst loading and activation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Pressure drop control
• Renewable fuels and dewaxing

In addition to theoretical sessions, our course features a practical day on day 2, where participants have the option to either visit our state-of-the-art R&D facilities or attend a workshop on troubleshooting and handling emergency situations.

What is the cancellation policy for the training?
All cancellation notifications must be emailed to: topsoeacademy@topsoe.com. A cancellation / no‑show fee of EUR 150 will be charged for all registrations cancelled 30 working days or less before the event. Cancellations made after this deadline are subject to this cancellation / no‑show fee. Notification of any event cancellation by Topsoe will be sent no later than August 9, 2026.
